Reduce Your Eye Pressure with a Jacuzzi

jacuzzi for eye pressure reductionWould anyone like to join me in the jacuzzi for an eye pressure experiment? Here's how it is supposed to work:

  1. Check your intraocular pressure.
  2. Take some turmeric (along with some white pepper) about 90 minutes before the next step.
  3. Enter a very hot jacuzzi up to your neck for about 20 minutes.
  4. Check your intraocular pressure again - it should be way down according to an internal medicine specialist who I have corresponded with.

The mechanism of action is that a specific heat shock protein (HSP 70) inhibits the inflammatory cytokines (such as TNF-alpha) that are involved in glaucoma. I'm not sure anyone has actually proven that the above steps will reduce eye pressure, but there is a large body of endocrine research on the effect of the heat shock proteins on inflammatory cytokines.

Check with your doctor before trying anything like this.
